Supporting individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competences. The project helps build a range of skills that are necessary in sustainability education and beyond. In order to behave responsibly, an individual needs to build analytical and critical thinking capacity and to think entrepreneurially in order to come up with innovative solutions to real world sustainability challenges. Sustainability requires collaboration among individuals from different backgrounds, the capacity to evaluate information coming from different sources, and the capacity to integrate diverse knowledge towards reaching viable solutions. On the other hand, sustainability skills, namely the capacity to operate in a responsible manner, is emerging as a key competency in the 21st century. The competency is demanded by industry and by employers, who wish their business activities and offerings to be based on sound environmental practices in order to comply with regulations and in order to be acceptable by society. Open education and innovative practices in the digital era. The project aims to develop an innovative digital platform that will promote collaboration among students towards applying design thinking principles in sustainability contexts. The platform will facilitate collaboration in the classroom and beyond, by providing services that allow students to exchagne ideas, to brainstrom, and to collaborate as well as to apply the design thinking principles of empathy, ideation, prototype design, and evaluation. The platform will be openly available to all interested parties upon project completion. Tackling early school leaving and disadvantage. The project aims to develop learning activities that link education to the real world. The proposed educational intervention will focus on industry and societal challenges and call students to introduce solutions for sustainable practices. As such, the proposed learning intervention demonstrates the relation of education to real life, motivating students to enage in educational practices in the long term. In addition, by building sustainability skills that are demanded by industry the project promotes employability, further linking education ot the world of work. New innovative curricula/educational methods/development of training courses. The project promotes the development of innovative educational offerings that integrate emerging ICT technologies. The proposed interventions integrates experiential and active learning design to digital collaboration tools promoting enriched educational experiences through enhanced communication and collaboration. In addition, experiential and active learning design promote the retaining of knowledge and its transferability from the educational environment to the world of work, further facilitating employability through the development of industry demanded skills.
